چکیده

For an integer t and a fixed graph H, we consider the problem of finding a maximum tmatching not containing H as a subgraph, which we call the H-free t-matching problem. This problem is a generalization of the problem of finding a maximum 2-matching with no short cycles, which has been well-studied as a natural relaxation of the Hamiltonian circuit problem. When H is a complete graph Kt+1 or a complete bipartite graph Kt,t, in 2010, Bérczi and Végh gave a polynomial-time algorithm for the H-free t-matching problem in simple graphs with maximum degree at most t+ 1. A main contribution of this paper is to extend this result to the case when H is a t-regular complete partite graph. We also show that the problem is NP-complete when H is a connected t-regular graph that is not complete partite.

Counting Subgraphs via Homomorphisms

We introduce a generic approach for counting subgraphs in a graph. The main idea is to relate counting subgraphs to counting graph homomorphisms. This approach provides new algorithms and unifies several well known results in algorithms and combinatorics including the recent algorithm of Björklund, Husfeldt and Koivisto for computing the chromatic polynomial, the classical algorithm of Kohn, Go...

Some Algebraic and Combinatorial Properties of the Complete $T$-Partite Graphs

In this paper, we characterize the shellable complete $t$-partite graphs. We also show for these types of graphs the concepts vertex decomposable, shellable and sequentially Cohen-Macaulay are equivalent. Furthermore, we give a combinatorial condition for the Cohen-Macaulay complete $t$-partite graphs.

Finding the maximum-weight induced k-partite subgraph of an i-triangulated graph

An i-triangulated graph is a graph in which every odd cycle has two non-crossing chords; i-triangulated graphs form a subfamily of perfect graphs. A slightly more general family of perfect graphs are clique-separable graphs. A graph is clique-separable precisely if every induced subgraph either has a clique cutset, or is a complete multipartite graph or a clique joined to an arbitrary bipartite...

Polar cographs

Polar graphs are a natural extension of some classes of graphs like bipartite graphs, split graphs and complements of bipartite graphs. A graph is (s, k)-polar if there exists a partition A, B of its vertex set such that A induces a complete s-partite graph (i.e., a collection of at most s disjoint stable sets with complete links between all sets) and B a disjoint union of at most k cliques (i....

Constraint Minimum Vertex Cover in K Partite Graph, Approximation Algorithm and Complexity Analysis

Generally, a graph G, an independent set is a subset S of vertices in G such that no two vertices in S are adjacent (connected by an edge) and a vertex cover is a subset S of vertices such that each edge of G has at least one of its endpoints in S. Again, the minimum vertex cover problem is to find a vertex cover with the smallest number of vertices. Consider a k-partite graph G = (V, E) with v...
